Frequently Asked Questions / Need To Know
How long will it take to receive my mantel/shelf? - Typically an unfinished mantel or shelf will ship from our manufacturing facility in Virginia two weeks after the order is placed. For painted or stained pieces it will be 3 weeks before shipping.
How are they shipped? - Shelves and smaller mantels will usually ship via UPS or Fed-Ex, larger pieces are shipped via common carrier trucking. This requires that someone be present to accept and sign for it. The trucking company will call to schedule a delivery date with you.
What if its damaged? - We make every effort to insure that it arrives right the first time, but occasionally there will be damages that are acquired during shipping. Here is what you do.

If UPS or Fed-Ex Delivered: |
Whether it is left at your door or if you sign for it, you have up to 48 hours to report damages. You should call us directly, 800-237-7470. We will handle the whole claims process on our side and get you another mantel sent out quickly. The only thing you will need to do is have the piece and all of the packing materials available to be picked up. PLEASE BE ADVISED - If a damage is not reported to us within 48 hours of delivery (72 hours for a Friday delivery) you will have waived your right to any replacement or compensation. |

If Common Carrier Trucking: |
For a common carrier delivery you must be present to sign for the shipment. If you verbally give the trucking company permission to leave it without being present you have legally excepted the delivery "as is". Therefore we would not be able to file any claims regarding damage. NEVER allow a trucking company to just "leave it".
If you see that the carton is badly damaged the driver is required to allow you to inspect the items before accepting the shipment. If the items is clearly damaged please just refuse the shipment and call us. We will handle the entire claims process while we get a new mantel sent to you quickly.
If you are unable to inspect it (unable to unpack it yourself, or if the driver is being impatient) please sign the receipt as "Damaged, need to inspect content". This gives us a 48 hour window in which to contact the trucking company and report the damage. What about the wood? - Our products are offered in 3 wood choices.
MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard), suitable for painting only
Birch with White Pine Moldings, suitable for painting or staining
Red Oak, suitable for painting or staining
What is the Return Policy - Because each mantel is sized specifically for your individual order we do not accept returns. All sales are final.
